The clients - a family of four - approached Studio.e with the desire to build a sustainable, energy efficient house. Their hope was to create a place strongly connected to their surroundings - alfalfa and clover fields, sheep pastures, and farmlands.

The house extends and reflects the family’s connection to sustainable practices. Designed as a modern farmhouse compound, simple forms combine to create a warm and inviting home. The buildings pull inspiration from rural and vernacular buildings, as well as the high performance standards of the Passive House method.
