Spiral House Guest Pavilion

a tiny house accessory dwelling on a forested hillside

Location  |  Central Point, Oregon
Project Type  |  Accessory Dwelling
Size  |  340 SF
Completion  |  Unbuilt

Architecture | Jan Fillinger, design principal; Jay Elder, project manager Interior Design | Studio.e Architecture

Despite having an interior size of just 340 SF, this tiny house is feature rich. There’s a wood stove, a Murphy bed and a generous deck area outside the wide glass doors. Outside, there’s a spiral stair leading to a roof deck, with deep overhangs extending over the deck below.

This makes a guest house and party pavilion hiding in the trees. The site includes several acres of forest and plenty of space to the nearest neighbor. To fit into the hillside, two retaining walls make a corner pointing into the slope, like the prow of a ship.
