Neskowin Coast House

a stunning cliffside retreat facing the pacific ocean

Location | Neskowin, Oregon
Project Type | Single Family Residential Size | 4,200 SF
Completion | Unbuilt

Architecture | Jan Fillinger, design principal; Eli Nafziger, project manager

Neskowin is a beach town on the Oregon coast, and it attracts adventure seekers from nearby cities including Portland and Corvallis.  This site offers breathtaking views across the Pacific Ocean, with waves crashing onto the sandy beach below.

The clients on this project are avid rock climbers and they were enthusiastic about living on a cliff.  At least, it may seem that way from the challenging driveway grading and the extensive structural engineering required to build on such a steep slope.  The design includes expansive decks on two levels and a timber framed roof with deep overhangs.
