This is the latest phase of infill development designed by Studio.e for the Friendly neighborhood. Flanked by the Skyview Houses and Lucia Townhouses, Friendly Gardens provides a dining hall and community hangout to accompany a series of independent food trucks.
The site is a one-acre vacant lot, adjacent to a cluster of existing retail stores, and the last commercially zoned parcel in the area.
The vision is a bright and friendly venue for the neighborhood community that brings together a variety of food carts, offering delicious, healthy, sustainably-produced, and locally-sourced cuisine, where people can enjoy beer, wine, cider, kombucha, or juice in a relaxed, informal and affordable eating environment.
Friendly Garden includes a 3,400 square foot commercial building with a roof deck, plaza, play area, and visitor parking. It serves as a hub for events ranging from music, poetry, political dialogue, game night, and benefits for local non-profits to weekend activities for youth, and weekly farmers’ markets.
