This project is sited in an established neighborhood, not far from the center of Eugene, on a lot that was split from the house next door. The property boundary has an odd shape to fit around the existing house, with a shared driveway leading to a parking area and workshop in the backyard. The proposed house has a compact shape with a lofty interior, including a mezzanine overlooking the living area.
The layout has an unusual sequence that works well on a narrow lot. Bedrooms are closer to the front, with the living / dining / kitchen area at the back. This allows the shared spaces to face a sheltered porch at the backyard.
