Focused on multi-generational living, the Arlington Residence provides ample space for a variety of lifestyles. The house is built to embrace semi-outdoor living during the summer, with its expansive elevated porch. In the wintertime, inhabitants gather around the two centerpiece gas fireplaces, and appreciate a snowy day through the generously-sized windows.
Walls are insulated with ZIP-R sheathing, providing a very tight building envelope. Windows and shades are placed to take advantage of passive heating and cooling. Since this is seen as a generational investment, the design includes robust details and specifications to ensure extended building life and comfort.
