The city of Springfield chose this design for an affordable housing development on the east side of town. Studio.e collaborated with DevNW on the proposal, which includes six residential units on a 1/4-acre site.

This type of development is known as middle housing, with a height and bulk that fits in among single family homes. These townhouses are less than 18 feet wide, but each has a comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath plan in 1,270 square feet. This allows a very efficient use of land, in an area already served by infrastructure and close to parks and transit.
